I hope I explained my situation coherent enough. It ONLY seems to be tied to applications that have some sort of background task. This issue does not happen when I'm idle on the internet or simply watching YouTube, so I'm not convinced it's a virus necessarily. As if something was SUPPOSED to be going on in the background, but there was a glitch that kept opening up File Explorer instead. This isn't limited to a single program either, it seems to be widespread.Īnother example: I installed a certain plugin for a Flight Simulator I enjoy, and every few moments (on a seemingly regular, or periodic basis), two windows of File Explorer would open up.
